SUmmer CLASSES AT IN-SIGHT

Classes are offered regardless of ability to pay, and no interested youth is ever turned away because of their family’s economic circumstances. Families are asked to pledge and pay what they can afford.

The Summer semester starts the week of June 18.


Digital: Night Photography

June 18-22, 7-11pm

*Ages 15-18

Led by local photographer and Brattleboro Union High School photo teacher Dave Mazor, students in this class will utilize advanced digital skills and experimentation with long exposure to create captivating imagery at night. Light painting, star trails, post processing in Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom, and more.

**This class runs until 11pm. Please be prepared for students to be out late and make appropriate arrangements for transportation.

Analog 2: Thinking Photography

July 30-Aug 3, 12-4pm *Ages 15-18

This class will be led by two recent Marlboro College students who have focused their attention on philosophy and photography. Students in this class will have the opportunity to dive deeper into the meaning and intention of photography, while having the freedom to explore their own ideas by utilizing their skills to make new images. 

*Students will be expected to have a basic knowledge of black and white analog photography.

Analog Photo 1: The Basic

Aug 13-17, 12-4pm *Ages 11-18

This class is a basic analog black and white film photography class. Students will learn how to use manual 35mm cameras, develop their own film, and print their photographs in the darkroom. They will also learn foundational techniques in composition, lighting, and more., while exploring the world around them. 

 


Nature Photo Explorers

Aug 6-10, 9am – 3pm ~ Ages 12-15

This program will integrate digital photography into nature exploration and discovery, through a collaboration between In-Sight Photography and the Bonnyvale Environmental Education Center. We will use the camera as a lens to investigate the natural world around us. Explorations will take place at unique natural areas around Brattleboro, including woodland, aquatic and mountain adventures.  

** Drop off and pick up location will vary by the day.

Materials: In-Sight provides all materials for every class including camera, film, paper, chemicals and more. Participants are welcome to use materials they already have, but are not expected to bring anything.
