In-Sight is proud to have a dedicated community of volunteers to contribute to the organization in a variety of ways. Volunteers help with class outreach, fundraising, exhibition installation, event planning, and more. Most classes at In-Sight are taught by volunteers in the community who have an art background. See below for an example of the types of things you can do as a volunteer at In-Sight and click the button to start the application.


INstructor

  • Commits to teaching a 10 week Fall or Spring Course for 2 hours each week, or a 5 day, 4hr/week Summer course

  • Requires a background check

  • Works collaboratively with a co-teacher

  • Experience working in the medium of class required

  • Experience teaching preferred

  • Extra hours likely to plan class

  • Personal use of facility granted when not being used for programming

  • Estimated time commitment: 42hrs

Exhibition

  • Installation

  • Matte and glass cutting

  • Sequencing of art

  • Labeling

  • Cleaning

  • Experience with fine art installation preferred but not required

  • Estimated time commitment:

Lab Monitor

  • Commits to running a weekly 3hr lab for the 10-week fall or spring semester

  • Requires background check

  • Works directly with students

  • Photography Experience required

  • Analog photography experience preferred

  • Personal use of facility granted when not being used for programming

  • Estimated time commitment: 30hrs

INTERN

  • Works directly with staff

  • Available for college students

  • Hours will be during the facility’s regular operation

  • Hours are dependent on intern’s academic schedule and agreed upon with supervising staff

  • Previous internships have included programming, development, administrative, etc

  • Photography or interest in non-profits encouraged

  • Estimated time commitment: Approx. 5-10hrs a week

Marketing/Outreach

  • Assist with distribution of In-Sight’s marketing materials to the public

  • Flyering for classes

  • Posting to social media

  • Writing press releases

  • Transportation encouraged

  • Estimated time commitment: 1-2hrs per week

Gallery Monitor

  • Meet and greet the public during gallery walk or In-Sight’s Auction or other In-Sight facilitated exhibitions

  • Maintain a tally of visitors

  • Oversee the safety of the art and facility

  • Estimated time commitment: 3hrs per month

Facilities

  • Assistance with organization and cleaning of the facility

  • Hours are during regular operation

  • No photography experience required

  • Estimated time commitment: 2-4hrs per week

Administrative

  • Assist with organizing records

  • Scan and digitize In-Sight archives

  • Estimated time commitment: Negotiable

Events

  • Assist with production of fundraising or community events

  • Estimated time commitment: Depending on need
