Lunch Time Artist Talks: Evan Lockhart

For three weeks in August, the In-Sight Photography Project will be hosting virtual Lunch Time Artist Talks every Wednesday at noon. Our second artist is Evan Lockhart.

Evan Lockhart is a photographer and artist from Detroit, MI who’s work explores dichotomous social structures such as race and gender through portraiture, self-portraiture, and hand-made photographic manipulation. Lockhart graduated with his MFA in Studio Arts with a focus on Photography and Education in May of 2020. His work has been exhibited in several states, his current series (Trans)Manhood, recently won 3rd place in the Maryland Hall 40 Under 40 juried exhibition. Lockhart’s professional focus is on community arts education in hopes to diversify arts academia to create a more equitable institution that represents people from all backgrounds.
