Yes, you read that correctly- a 10am class on a weekday during the school year. For those of you who are homeschooled or otherwise find yourself with free time on a Wednesday morning, this class is for you!

Photography literally means “to paint with light.” This class will explore the effects of light over a variety of photographic subjects and processes. From natural light to studio lighting, from digital cameras to cyanotypes, we will experiment with many ways to create an image using light.

All equipment will be provided by In-Sight.

Advanced Analog

Intermediate Level/ Prerequisite: Intro to Analog

Instructors: Laisa Bellomo-Johnson & Fiona Bird

Thursdays, 10/9/25-12/4/25

This course is for students ready to deepen their analog photography practice through technical challenges and creative experimentation. Assignments will focus on shooting in varied lighting conditions, still life/object studies, and more intentional approaches to composition and exposure.

We’ll dedicate class time to hands-on shooting—both on photowalks and in a studio portrait setup—and introduce the basics of large format photography through a collaborative class portrait using a 4x5 camera.

In the darkroom, students will explore advanced printing techniques, including double exposure printing. A special session will be dedicated to making large 11x14” prints using materials from the studio’s “hit-or-miss” donation boxes—embracing chance and creativity in the process.

All equipment will be provided by In-Sight.
